Curleys Bay Recreational Skate Park Project was officially opened on12th May 2018!

Such a rewarding day as we set up an eye clinic under the trees at Dunamis School and quickly sort about 5000 pairs of spectacles into marked beer and apple boxes for distribution in the townships surrounding Welkom.
Thank you so much to Dr Mark McDonald and colleagues who graciously donated over 20 000 spectacle cleaning clothes from Kiama (New South Wales – Australia)and which were humbly received today as we fitted over 200 pairs of spectacles under a tatty shade clothe and outside a little school called APOTHEKE.
Carmen Ryan and Team DAYS FOR GIRLS kits received another standing ovation from the young girls (see attached video ) Chantal Clarke Debbie DaleyBernadette Cross – you have NO IDEA at the gratitude and pride these girls have when they leave their classroom with their personal (female) hygiene kit and we thank and honour your work !
We ended the day with a very hospitable meal with Thami Magadla Eddie Ledima Doreen Cloete of the Welkom-Bahumi Rotary Club.

Project Update from Culburra Beach Skate Park Project Facebook Page – 26th October 2016
We have finally received our water line investigation and location report for the newly discovered water trunk line across the Curley’s Bay Reserve site by council and Shoalhaven Water.
Our engineers have reviewed the detail and have adjusted our park design to accommodate the water lines, no major changes to layout or design. This has delayed our community park project but we are working hard to get the timelines and schedule of works back on track for completion in early 2017.

We have just returned from our Fiji Trip to villages and kids affected by Cyclone Winston.
We were able to transport several boxes free of charge, courtesy of Jet Star and visited the villages of Votua and Votua Lailai.
The kids were very excited to receive gifts of footballs, soccer balls, boots, hats, clothing and bags.
We also dropped off some new equipment to the Sigatoka Special School and two orphanages in Nadi, The Treasure House and St Minas.
Many thanks to the sporting bodies who supported this trip including:- The NRL, Soccer Australia, Little Athletics, Oz Tag, Cronulla Sharks, Canberra Raiders and Greater Western Sydney Giants.
We have some left over gear that we are hopeful to ship over in the next few months

A major big thank you to Jetstar for waiving the extra baggage cost to get the sporting goods over to Fiji! and also a thank you to the Cronulla sharks for their generous donation. Every little bit helps. We are looking forward to distributing our donated items on our trip to Fiji in August, 2016 🙂 We have approximately 60 kilo’s worth of gear so far!
